Bringing Children Closer to Nature Report

This report details the results of a nationwide survey from 2018 on the provision of outdoor learning, particularly through Forest Schools, for children in the UK. This report reveals how practitioners overcome significant barriers to bringing children closer to nature and how this can be sustained. Over 1,171 people took part in the online survey, mostly educators (1,080), alongside private woodland owners (94).
This report is an output from the Forest Schools for All project, an education project led by the Sylva Foundation in partnership with the Forest School Association, and The Ernest Cook Trust, which is also the main funder of the project.
